Alan is married to Marjorie and they have two sons and two grandchildren. Both Marjorie and Alan led a District GSE team to District 5840, San Antonio in Texas in 1991 which saw Alan joining the District Foundation Committee for four years afterwards. Alan then became Conference Secretary for three years, Assistant Governorship led to his election as District Governor for 2000/2001. During that year several goals concerned with membership, Foundation giving and charity help were set and achieved.
Alan is now serving RIBI on the Foundation Committee and has returned to being in the "bosom of his club" once again.
